Treasurer

Lorraine has been a self-employed accountant since 1982 with Marchwicki Associates Inc.  She works with organizations and nonprofits.  She has been a part of the Employment Factory since its inception providing guidance for non-profit requirements and tax services.

Maureen Cary

Secretary

Maureen Cary, owner, and publisher of RI Natural Awakenings magazine has been bringing cutting edge information on natural health, fitness and green living to the RI community since 2008. By connecting readers to the information, products, and services that support a healthy lifestyle, Natural Awakenings has become a valuable resource. With a BS in Business Administration and a 20-year career in local banking, she is in a unique position to bridge the holistic and business communities.

Wendy Fachon

Director of Curriculum Development

Certified in RIPQA after-school teaching methods, Wendy Fachon develops and facilitates engaging after-school and summertime programs that promote youth leadership, environmental literacy, and healthy living. She has created many Child Opportunity Zone programs for Pawtucket and North Kingstown school departments, as well as co-created programming with The Empowerment Factory for PASA in Providence. Wendy travels to other elementary schools around Rhode Island providing outdoor STEAM programs that enrich NGSS science curriculum. She writes articles about youth development and environmental literacy for Rhode Island Natural Awakenings healthy living magazine and is the creator of the Netwalking website. She earned her B.A. at Colgate University in 1980 and her M.B.A. from The Tuck School of Business in 1985.

John Interdonato

Director of Garden Gnomes and Hammers

John is currently a Market Development Manager for Graybar, which is a leading North American distributor of electrical and communications and data networking products and is a provider of related supply chain management and logistics services.  Prior to Graybar, John has been a Senior Switchgear specialist with Rexel Holdings, Graybar and Square D since 1982.

John brings his building and construction knowledge and skills, providing expertise in planning, constructing, to physically hammering in the nails for our community projects. 

Bianca Policastro

Director of Corporate Relations

Bianca is the Vice President of the Policastro Group, an innovative consulting firm which provides consulting services in the areas of  Government Relations, Health Policy, Association Management, Business Development, Non-Profit Development and Management, Program Planning, Grant Writing, Policy Tracking and Research and Nonprofit Organizational Standards.

Prior to launching her own consulting firm, she was the Director of Development for BVCAP, which provides community resources such as Emergency Services, Education and Job Training, Energy and Weatherization assistance, Housing, Family, and Elderly Services.

Eric Mata

Director of Compliance and Protocol

Eric Mata is a native of New York who migrated to Rhode Island in 2001. He obtained his post-secondary degree from Johnson and Whales University, and for over a decade worked within the Financial sector as a senior compliance assurance officer ensuring regulatory compliance with Federal, state, and local regulations. He currently serves as a business analyst to the Finance division of Blue Cross Blue Shield RI.

Erin Isabella

Director of Donor Relations

Erin brings more than 20 years of experience as a frontline fundraiser to the board of The Empowerment Factory. Currently serving as the director of philanthropy and stewardship at Rhode Island Public Radio, Erin has built fundraising programs from the ground up and has closed close to $100 million dollars in gifts and pledges throughout her career. She has served in a variety of fundraising roles around the country including Rhode School of Design, Berklee College of Music, Earthwatch Institute, and di Rosa art museum. In addition, she provides consulting services on designing and implementing an integrated fundraising strategy based on donor-centered fundraising principles.

An alumna of Rhode Island School of Design, Erin also maintains a strong freelance practice in the graphic and interior design arenas and is an established artist. To view her artwork, please visit erinisabella.com.

Karen King

Director of Empowerment Programs

Karen is the Managing Director of Administration at DiPrete Engineering, a civil engineering land planning and survey firm.  She has been employed with DiPrete for over 25 years overseeing HR, Operations, and the front office.  

She also devotes her time to the Make RI Stronger Initiative as a Strengths Coach and a leader and mentor to kindergartners and 1st graders as a Girl Scout Leader over the past fifteen years.
